What is it in life that makes you jump for joy?

Is it maybe your job that makes you excited about life, or maybe your wife/husband, or maybe you really life for playing sports over the weekend?

Whatever it is that really makes you feel like living, it says something about you?

I just had a meeting with our Worship Pastor about getting involved with our Young Adults ministry and what my passions are within ministry, since I am in a change over process of moving into ministry for my standard IT job I used to do.

Talking about this, we touched the subject of a dream that has been growing within me for the last year, at least, which is to establish an internet ministry point for our church, and the more we talked about it, the more I wanted to jump for joy about the prospect of actually getting this project of the ground, and to really change the way we do ministry in our church. Afterwards he just confirmed my feeling within himself, and I am now burning to get this thing of the ground, and to start building this web portal for our Young Adults ministry, and to really bring the whole Web 2.o and Social Networking into the reckoning.

So, what is it that makes you jump for joy?

OK, so yesterday I have received the biggest challenge for my life in n long time.

I had a job interview for another IT company, doing pretty much what I am doing currently. The reason for looking at this job is mainly to be closer to home, except for the fact that the project that they want to employ me for, will be at the client site, which is further from home than I am currently at. PROBLEM

But, this is not the actual challenge, as that is pretty much an easy one. During the interview, the interviewer asked me basically one question, and he really wanted to get into it, which I will be grateful to him forever, as it opened my eyes a bit.

This question was, “Where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time?”

Easy one? Usually yes, but not this time.

See, the fact is, I have been moving jobs pretty much each year for the last 5 years, and I have been telling myself each and every time, that it is for career growth. This was true, as with every move I would get a little bit more money. The fact of the matter is though, that I struggle to find happiness in what I am doing on a daily basis.

Up until earlier this year, I had no clue what I wanted to do with my life, and was happy riding the corporate wave until I find what I am looking for, but it has become clear to me that I do not want to be in the corporate world.

I want to be in ministry!

But, I unfortunately don’t have the faith yet to leave my job and step out in faith, but I wish I had it though.

I am now, on a mission to be able to right my 5 year vision on a piece of paper, or even on this blog, but to have it in writing, and then I am going to do everything in my power to align whatever I do, to get to that goal. I have seen a bit of light at the end of the tunnel today though, but to get there, I will have to get a couple of key role players to buy into this idea I have, and then for them to put their faith in me, to make it work for me and them, and for the growth of the Kingdom of our Lord.

So, my request to you guys are, to please carry me in your prayers on this matter, as I am at the end of my tether with regard to my day job, and can think of only one thing, all day.

1 Timothy 1:12 (The Message)

I’m so grateful to Christ Jesus for making me adequate to do this work. He went out on a limb, you know, in trusting me with this ministry.

Hi all. Simply stumbled on to this piece of text while doing a search on eBible on grace. This was just such a wonderful revelation to me, as I know I am standing at the door of a new season in my life, serving Father.

I have been over this, so many times, as I am looking for ways in which I can go into full time ministry, and have heard many things from people stating that it might not be my call, and also telling myself, many times over, that life is so good, with a great salary and plenty of luxuries, but I KNOW that God has bigger plans for me.

It might be difficult at times, and it might be a struggle some times, but over the last couple of months God has brought just too many people over our paths, with the same visions and commitments as em and my wife has, that one can not carry on to ignore this calling.

I still don’t know, when or how it is going to happen, what I do know is that I must be ready and willing.

God, take this sinners heart, carry on changing it, from the inside out, and simply just USE it, for your works. Place Your words on this tongue, like a burning coal, so that I can not sit down in silence any more, when there is a need to preach the Good News.

Father, I love you, and I commit my life and my family to you. We will worship you, in everything that we do, and we will not look back.

This is my prayer over this ministry, which consists of Unsafe Challenge, as well as the worship ministry that I am already in.

I would love for all of you, to join me in this journey, and lets make Unsafe Challenge, the best challenge ever placed on South Africa.
