POTSC: Lethal Mel

After receiving the poster for this weeks Never Beyond poster series by People of the Second Chance, I was stumped. Not because I do not know about Mel Gibson’s transgressions, or do not have an opinion about them, but because I was so disgusted when I heard about the domestic violence stuff, that I almost felt that he was beyond a second chance.

As usual, we will kick off with the Grace Mob’s definition

Purpose

Today  we are continuing with our series on the 5 traits that the Grace Mob of People of the Second Chance enclose in their vision.

The first 3 posts was:

The Vision of the Grace Mob, defines Purpose in this way

You live every moment and savor your existence knowing that your life impacts the world for the good. With purpose you can persevere. You set goals and work hard to achieve them. Life is a gift from God, so work hard to make the most of it. You are not a victim.

Courage

So, today we hit post number 3 in my series of 5 posts on the character traits contained within the vision of People of the Second Chance‘s Grace Mob.

If you missed the previous 2 posts they can be found here:

  1. Empathy
  2. Tenacity

So, how does the Grace Mob define Courage?

You are willing to take risks and operate out of your personal comfort zone. The acts of grace and forgiveness require extreme bravery to surrender our rights to get even. Courage is demanded to live a life of surrender. This trait is also required to live honestly and to have “everything in the light” in the context of community.

Tenacity

So, continuing with my blogging series on the 5 character traits enclosed in the vision of People of the Second Chance‘s Grace Mob, I am going to look at Tenacity today.

So first, let us look at how the Grace Mob describes tenacity:

You are steadfast and resilient when you feel like giving up on yourself and others. You stay the course and demonstrate grit and toughness, even when it is difficult.

Empathy

As you all know by now, I am very excited about the movement called People of the Second Chance. They have a mob within the movement, called the Grace Mob. which I am part of as well.

In the Grace Mob’s vision document they list 5 things that are extremely important to them, and every member of the Grace Mob. This however should be 5 defining personality traits of each one of us out there.

Today I want to spend some time on the First of the 5 character traits, Empathy, but do not despair, the other 4 will follow in quick succession during this week and next week.

POTSC: Forgive

Looking at the image above, I am sure no one needs to think very hard on what it represents. The KKK.

For us in South Africa, we will mostly know about them from movies and the media, but some things will stick with us:

  • the burning crosses
  • the white robes
  • the hangings

Inform

Sorry about this, I posted a something, only to be convicted by the Spirit to remove my post on inform.

Let me simply state, that I am hurting a bit due to situations, and I am simply asking for prayer on this.

Thank you for understanding.

Go and read an old post of mine, that has been generating quite a bit of traffic lately, if you like:

Promises

What has happened to the power of a promise?

What has happened in this world of ours, where it is easier to say sorry once a promise is broken, than to rather stick it through and to keep the promise you made?

Where have we lost the ability to honor ourselves and God by keeping our promises? By not keeping a promise, you are a liar, as simple as that…

The LORD hates liars, but is pleased with those who keep their word.

- Proverbs 12:22

Could you serve a God that is not going to judge the wicked on judgement day?
