Touching the finger of God

Hebrews 11:6 (The Message)

It’s impossible to please God apart from faith. And why? Because anyone who wants to approach God must believe both that he exists and that he cares enough to respond to those who seek him.

Yesterday we had our celebration Services at church, which was about finger touch moments with God, or in better words, those moments where God reached out to us, out of His goodness, and not out of anything we did.

Tying in with Almero’s post on Saturday on Doubt, this ties in extremely well with the theme this morning, of God coming through for you, in spite of you doing anything right.

What tends to baffle my mind completely, is that God will keep on doing this for us for as long as we live, even though we do things wrong. Once you have made that decision for God, He won’t leave you.

The challenge for me now, is to let go. To let God take over and do with my life as He sees fit, and stop trying to do this on my own.

I have felt challenged to step out in faith and join a charity organisation, and find out how and where I can help. There are a couple that caught my eye, but I am still too scared to take the jump.
