We’re sinking

ocean

Last night at our Worship Team band practice, we really felt the spirit moving in BIG way, to bring healing to people in the team with hurt and sorrow.

For once in my life, I listened, and really prayed for the people that God placed on my heart, and I really just felt that He was moving at my request, as strange as it may sound.

All the while, while we were praising and praying to the Lord, we listened to a song, that repeated the words

Call His Name

Jesus

Call His Name

Jesus

While we were singing this the song, How He Loves by John Mark McMillan kept coming into my mind, and especially a certain section. The word are

Verse 1:
He is jealous for me,
Loves like a hurricane, I am a tree,
Bending beneath the weight of his wind and mercy.
When all of a sudden,
I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory,
And I realise just how beautiful You are,
And how great Your affections are for me.

Pre-Chorus:
And oh, how He loves us so,
Oh how He loves us,
How He loves us all

Chorus 1:
Yeah, He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves.
Yeah, He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves.

Verse 2:
We are His portion and He is our prize,
Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes,
If grace is an ocean, we’re all sinking.
So Heaven meets earth like a sloppy wet kiss,
And my heart turns violently inside of my chest,
I don’t have time to maintain these regrets,
When I think about, the way…

Chorus 2:
He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.
Yeah, He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves.

Verse 3:
Well, I thought about You the day Stephen died,
And You met me between my breaking.
I know that I still love You, God, despite the agony.
…They want to tell me You’re cruel,
But if Stephen could sing, he’d say it’s not true, cause…

Chorus 3:
Cause He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us.
Whoa! how He loves us.
Whoa! how He loves.
Yeah, He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves.

Read these words, and just soak in the awesomeness of the line “If grace is an ocean, we’re all sinking”

In my opinion, I have drowned a long time ago in this ocean of grace, and I praise the Lord for His mercy, without which I would be a different person today.
