Worship?

But the time is coming-it has, in fact, come-when what you’re called will not matter and where you go to worship will not matter.
“It’s who you are and the way you live that count before God. Your worship must engage your spirit in the pursuit of truth. That’s the kind of people the Father is out looking for: those who are simply and honestly themselves before him in their worship. God is sheer being itself-Spirit. Those who worship him must do it out of their very being, their spirits, their true selves, in adoration.”

John 4:23-24

worshipOK, so this is a post that has been brewing inside of me for quite some time, as this is a topic very close to my heart, but I did not know what to say about the topic.

This is a challenge that God has placed on my life, to worship Him through everything that I do, and boy, is it hard.

I find though that people have very different views on what worship is, and what it should be, so let us have a bit of a discussion around this.

Please place a comment as to what you see and experience worship to be, as it would be great to be able to get a bit of overview as the opinions and experiences out there.

A prayer challenge

prayer1I want to put a challenge out there, and this comes from my own personal situation, and after reading the following blog post at Red Letter Believers.

What difference would it make to your everyday life at work, if you started to, first thing every day, pray for you office. Pray for the people that work with you in that office, and pray for the equipment in your office to work properly for the day. Also pray that God will give you the wisdom and strength to do your job, to the best of your ability as if you are doing it for him.

A lot of people, including me, look up to going to work, and would much rather be spending your time doing something else, but what difference would you be making in your life if you started with this discipline. Do you believe that God will make a difference to you, and you workplace, if you fervently started to pray for it?

I certainly do!

The Moka effect…

This morning, while dreaming about my next cup of coffee, it dawned on me, what the relation of your faith and this amazing little coffee making pot is…

First let me explain how this pot works. The bottom section contains the water, in that, a ground coffee goes into the funnel shaped coffee filter, that fits into the bottom container. Once all this is done, the ‘pot’ part is screwed on top of this, and it is placed on a stove top…

Now, the relation for me, with regards to my faith is, at first things start to heat up, and you get slightly uncomfortable. The warmer it gets the more uncomfortable you get, and the more the devil will try to get you to turn away, as it is getting slightly difficult to stay there, but once you reach the boiling point there is no turning back. You, the water, start to push up due to pressure from the bottom, through the coffee, The Word, and it simply starts to bubble out of you, as if there is no end.

WHAT A FEELING!!!

I have finally reached that point of bubbling over, and last night I was talking my wife’s head of her shoulders of everything God did for me in the last couple of weeks, and what my take on all f this was. This all while having a sushi dinner.

So, in closing, I Love You Lord, and please continue to challenge me and place in me uncomfortable/unsafe situations…

Childlike faith

OK, I am slowly but surely starting to realise and learn to listen to God, but then to trust Him to supply what you need in order to fulfill His words…

Yesterday, as I was chatting with Johan over Skype, I got the word, Childlike Faith. This immediately struck me as a brilliant topic for a blog post, but do what I may, I could net get my head around any content for this post.

This morning, during my Coffee with God session (Bible study) I got the following verse, and it simply knocked me off my feet.

People brought babies to Jesus, hoping he might touch them. When the disciples saw it, they shooed them off. Jesus called them back. “Let these children alone. Don’t get between them and me. These children are the kingdom’s pride and joy. Mark this: Unless you accept God’s kingdom in the simplicity of a child, you’ll never get in.”

Luke 18:15-17

Now, if you think this is a coincidence, then I am sorry for you, as God has revealed Himself to me so many times like this in the last couple of weeks, that I simply have to stand in awe, and try to get back to a ‘Childlike Faith’

Ok, we all know it, but do we say it enough? The Lord is AWESOME!!!!!!

During this mornings Bible study, as I am working my way through Luke and Acts, God supplied me with this little gem of a verse:

He said to his disciples, “Hard trials and temptations are bound to come, but too bad for whoever brings them on! Better to wear a millstone necklace and take a swim in the deep blue sea than give even one of these dear little ones a hard time! Luke 17:1-2

Now, if this is not great news for all us believers, then I don’t know…

Thank you Lord for we can know that you are with us, every step of the time.

Having read the below scripture on www.lanegeorge.com, it got me thinking as to what we need to do in order to stay in God’s will.

Psalms 139:23-24

Investigate my life, O God,
find out everything about me;
Cross-examine and test me,
get a clear picture of what I’m about;
See for yourself whether I’ve done anything wrong—
then guide me on the road to eternal life.

I want to challenge all of you to take this scripture, and make it part of your life.

Now go out and be unsafe…

why unsafe?

ok, so after tonight ‘home church’, or better knows as cell (I personally prefer home church), I realised what this whole unsafe challenge is.

we as Christians have become so safe in our environment, in that we tend to only put our faith out there when we are between fellow believers, like at church on sundays, etc.

the challenge put before us by God, is to put it out there, ALL THE TIME!!!!! think about this…

this means, at school, work, home, sports fields. EVERYTHING.

I also know this sounds like the old cliche we are told over and over, but are we REALLY doing it?
